I’m Beatrice Jean (BJ) Rodriguez — wife, mom of two wonderfully crazy kids, lover of a good theme, and the founder of The Make Room.

After more than 13 years in the traditional 9-to-5 world, I knew I wanted to create something of my own — something that gave my creative side a little more room to play. So, I decided to take the leap and build the kind of place I wished existed.

My love for making things special comes straight from my mom. Growing up, she threw the most memorable birthday parties for my brother and me, and those little bits of magic stuck with me. Now that I have children of my own, I understand just how special it is to create those moments for them — and also how much work goes into making them happen.

I believe childhood should feel magical, celebrations should feel personal, and the people hosting them should actually get to enjoy them, too.

That’s why I created The Make Room: a place designed to make a little more room for the magic — and a lot less room for the stress.

Hi, I’m Amanda Jo!

I’m a wife to an amazing husband, a mama to our very own little princess who is 3, and an avid Golden Girls fan.

After experiencing some sudden health challenges at 32, I found myself looking at life a little differently. It reminded me just how precious life is and how much I want to truly live it to the fullest.

As part of my healing journey, I began reconnecting with my inner child and giving myself permission to create simply because it made me happy. What started as a form of healing quickly turned into a passion—and eventually, a dream of creating full-time.

I come from a family where no life event is too small to celebrate. Birthdays, holidays, milestones, and everything in between have always been an excuse to gather, create memories, and make things beautiful.

Now, I get to combine that love of celebration with my love for creativity and design. I’m passionate about the little details that make an event feel personal, magical, and uniquely yours.

What began as part of my own healing journey has become something I hope can bring joy, beauty, and unforgettable memories to other families too.
