I’m Beatrice Jean (BJ) Rodriguez — wife, mom of two wonderfully crazy kids, lover of a good theme, and the founder of The Make Room.

After more than 13 years in the traditional 9-to-5 world, I knew I wanted to create something of my own — something that gave my creative side a little more room to play. So, I decided to take the leap and build the kind of place I wished existed.

My love for making things special comes straight from my mom. Growing up, she threw the most memorable birthday parties for my brother and me, and those little bits of magic stuck with me. Now that I have children of my own, I understand just how special it is to create those moments for them — and also how much work goes into making them happen.

I believe childhood should feel magical, celebrations should feel personal, and the people hosting them should actually get to enjoy them, too.

That’s why I created The Make Room: a place designed to make a little more room for the magic — and a lot less room for the stress.
